WHAT IS THE SURFIVAL LEAGUE?

  • The Surfival League is a Survivor League that follows the WSL Championship Tour. Pick one surfer per event. If they survive, you survive. Last person standing wins a quiver of PANDA surfboards and cold hard cash. We're making Round One fun again.

WHAT ARE THE RULES?

The Basics

  • Each event, pick only one (1) surfer to advance past the Round 2 on the mens side and Round 2 on the Womens side. One entry fee ($25) gets you into both the men’s and women’s leagues.

  • If your surfer loses in the first two elimination rounds you are eliminated for the year. If your surfer advances, you advance.

  • You can not pick the same surfer twice.

  • The competition will continue until the last person is standing and they will win $7000 and three custom shaped Panda Surfboards on the Mens’ side and $1,000 and one custom PANDA surfboard on Women’s.

WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR THE FINAL?

  • Same rule applies.

  • When you submit your Pipe pick you also submit two tiebreaker guesses: (1) the winner's Final heat score, and (2) the combined score of both finalists in the Final. You probably won't need them. But just in case.

  • Furthest advance at Pipe wins. Finalist beats semifinalist, and so on.

  • If nobody survives Round 2 at Pipe, all remaining players are still alive and tiebreakers apply.

  • Still tied? Closest guess to the Pipe Masters winner's Final heat score wins. If it's dead even, the lower guess wins.

  • Still tied after that? Closest guess to the combined score of both finalists. Lower guess wins if equidistant.

WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?

Main League

  • Men's winner: $7,000 cash + 3 custom PANDA surfboards. That's a full quiver.

  • Women's winner: $2,000 cash + 1 custom PANDA surfboard.

Second Chance League

  • Men's winner: $1,000 cash + 1 custom PANDA surfboard.

  • Women's winner: $1,000 cash + 1 custom PANDA surfboard.

Board shipping

  • If you're not in continental USA or Australia, board shipping is on you. Or we'll give you $400 per board in cash instead. Your call. Boards are PU, custom shaped by PANDA.

WHEN DOES THE LEAGUE START?

  • The league follows the WSL event schedule. So that is when the hooter blows at Bells Beach. The window opens April 1st.

WHY DID WE START THE SURFIVAL LEAGUE?

  • We are “Making Round One Fun Again!”

  • We think Fantasy Surfing is the worst.

  • It’s the most fun you can have watching the WSL!

HOW DO I JOIN?

  • It’s simple. Pay the $25 membership fee, create an account and pick your surfer!

WHAT IF MY SURFER GETS INJURED/BIT BY A SHARK/PULLS OUT OF COMPETITION?

  • You can switch up your surfer up until the waiting period begins. After that, tough luck!

WHAT IF THERE IS A TIE?

There are no ties!

If everybody loses in any event, except Pipe Masters (see above for Pipe rules), all people that were in that event move on.

HOW DO I MAKE MY PICKS?

You must log in to your Surfival Account. You then submit your surfer. It is your responsibility to make sure your pick is in before event starts. If you do not make your pick in time, you are OUT.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY PICK?

Just enter a new pick within your account. The more recent pick will count

CAN I ENTER MULTIPLE TIMES?

No! One entry per person.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW? Fine print, etc.

Yes, this is a skill based game that is supposed to be FUN. The admins will be final authority on all decisions affecting the contest with the goal being to keep it fair and fun for all.

The prize money is not determined by the amount of players. All extra prize money will be held for future games.

This is a skill-based game. Not gambling, not betting, not anything like that.

One entry per person.

Prize money is fixed. It doesn't change based on how many people sign up.The Surfival Gods reserve the right to have members pick 2 surfers per event if necessary towards back half of year.

During the back half of the year, the Round you have to make it past might change.

If the winner who are not located in continental USA or Australia must pay for board shipping (or we can offer you $400/board in lieu of the boards). The boards must be PU and no crazy artwork.

Winner responsible for all local taxes and will receive tax documents after winning.

ARE THE SECOND CHANCE LEAGUE RULES THE SAME?

Yes (if we run it). Just a lower prize ($1k cash and 1 PANDA Surfboard)
